The Adventure Bride’s Guide: The Top 5 Reasons to Elope in Guam

Hey Adventure couples!

I’m back again to announce some big news for our adventure wedding team - we are now booking elopements and destination weddings in Guam!

How cool is that?!

If you’re like me, the first time I met someone from Guam my first question was “So what is there to do in Guam?” Because I simply was unfamiliar with the island. Now that I know so much more about it, and my husband actually lived there for over a year, I have a whole new appreciation for the beautiful island.

So, grab your coffee, your wedding planning notebook and jot down these reasons why Guam is an amazing place to hold your intimate ceremony!

  1. Beautiful Beaches

Some of the most beautiful beaches in the world are found surrounding the Pacific island of Guam. The cool part about beaches on Guam is that there is pretty much any beach aesthetic you could hope for on that island.

Are you wanting a secluded and intimate spot for your elopement? Guam’s got it.

Looking for a busier vibe for your photos near some touristy/destination-style locations? Guam’s got it.

Looking for white sands or rocky cliffs next to the water? Guam’s got it!

I’ll let the photo here speak for itself, but if you literally Google photos of the beaches in Guam, you can see some of the bluest water and prettiest weather. For a destination beach wedding or secluded adventure elopement on the beach, Guam is definitely a great spot!

2. Convenient Location

For couples looking to elope and honeymoon in the same spot, Guam is a great place to do just that. There are multiple resorts across the small island that can host you, and there are plenty of fun things to do year-round when honeymooning there.

Guam is also conveniently located on the map as well. If you are looking to REALLY travel around, Guam is not far from places like PNG, Australia, Japan, and multiple other islands in the vicinity. For the really adventurous couple looking to do LOTS of exploring, Guam is a fun and centrally located spot for a wedding and honeymoon.

3. Sunsets

Some of the best sunsets in the world are found on the lush island of Guam. My husband has had the unique privilege to live in multiple countries over the years, and Guam is the place he talks about the most. Even the photos he took on his iPhone of the sunsets from the beaches or mountains of Guam are absolutely breathtaking - and that’s without editing. He absolutely GUSHES about the island anytime a tropical honeymoon location is brought up.

Once again, the photos just speak for themselves. If you could see me right now, I’ve got stars in my eyes just looking at this beautiful beach sunset landscape!

4. Diverse Nature

To me, one of the most important things to me when scouting a location to photograph or even just vacation in, is natural diversity. While beaches are fun, sometimes it’s good to be able to do other activities as well.

Guam has beaches, mountains, lush forests, touristy spots, secluded swimming holes, caves, great sunsets, shopping, great restaurants…so many things to do in a week or two. And because Guam is so small, anything can be reached within an hour or two of travel at the most.

There are plenty of opportunities to kayak and canoe these beautiful lagoons and coves. To me this photo literally makes me imagine I’m rowing to Rivendell, if you’ve ever seen the Lord of the Rings films. (If you haven’t, you should ;)

5. Amazing Local Food

The restaurants in Guam are honestly next-level. The array of rich cuisines and culture this island has to offer is otherworldly!

There are so many good places to get a great meal, especially if you enjoy Asian food. There are plenty of American-style places as well, but as a foodie, great places to eat are definitely a must when I am looking to book any sort of trip - especially a destination wedding or honeymoon!

Whether you like to hit the town, explore local locations, or stay at your resort, there is no shortage of delicious food that’ll have you addicted and dreaming of it even after your trip is long over!

That’s it for today!

Till next time!

-Carlie
