The Adventure Bride’s Guide to Lover Era Inspired Elopement Locations

Hey Adventure Brides!

So many brides that I’ve done consultations with lately have been suggesting wedding themes based off of their favorite Taylor Swift eras! (I personally am a huge Swiftie and am all for this!)

So, I thought this would be a fun blog topic! The last bride I spoke to during a Discovery Call asked about having a Lover themed adventure wedding and wanted my top location ideas.

If you’re not a Swiftie, or you’re new to the whole fan club, the Lover Era is a dreamy celestial purple, pink, and blue pastel sunrise watercolor feeling aesthetic. So when someone asks me for locations based off of that era, my first thought is being able to have the elevation to capture the pastel sunrise colors, hopefully with some fluffy clouds as well.

My top picks were:

  1. Pensacola Beach, Florida

I simply can’t say enough good things about this beautiful place (there’s a reason I now live here!). Pensacola is home or superhighway to sooooo many beautiful spots. Sunrises and sunsets along the Emerald Coast are some of the most special, and pastel colors can be seen almost every time the sun comes up or down.

There are plenty of activities to take part in and restaurants - great seafood! - to try while you’re there. You can come elope on your honeymoon or you can bring along family members and get a condo!

There are shopping centers in both Foley, AL and Destin, FL (Pensacola is right between the two) and plenty of water sports and activities to participate in making it the perfect spot to host your Lover Era themed adventure wedding or elopement!

  2. Badlands National Park, South Dakota

The Badlands National Park of South Dakota is one of THEE best places to get some gorgeous pastel sunrise or sunset photos. With a rugged terrain that is full of natural beauty year-round, wonderful assortments of wildlife, and very easy to hike to great spots!

Badlands National Park will forever have my heart, and I scream from the rooftops just how easy it is to have an adventure ceremony here. If you’ve never been, the way the park is set up you can have the choice to hike from easy to advanced trails, and there are a few different main roads that you can drive along and merely pull over if you see something you’d like to capture in your day’s photos!

It truly makes this park the best of both worlds, whether you’re an avid hiking couple, or you’d rather sit back and relax some romantic music in a convertible and just enjoy the scenery and fresh air!

3. Sylvan Lake, South Dakota

Yet another of my favorite places in the whole wide world (can you tell I LOVE South Dakota?!) - Sylvan Lake in Custer State Park, South Dakota. This gorgeous place has easy to get to lakeside spots where you can swim, fish, or climb the rocks for amazing photos. There are restrooms, a parking area, and a gathering spot if you wish to have family attend your ceremony!

Beautiful pastel sunrises and sunsets can be captured here, and there is plenty of wildlife to see and wonderful trails to hike in this park!

4. Glacier Point, Yosemite

Yosemite National Park is one of the most beautiful places for an adventure elopement! It is a land rich with picturesque sights and places to hike and explore together!

Sunrises in this place are absolutely next-level, and many couples flock there each year to say “I do.” The water in the park (especially at sunrise) is crystal-clear, giving your photos a peaceful aesthetic! There are so many romantic spots to experience, and you’ll no doubt want to plan your honeymoon in the park as well! You can spend your days with majestic scenery and really intimately connecting with both your significant other and with nature!

If you’re looking for a naturey place to host your Lover Era adventure elopements, you won’t be disappointed with Yosemite!

5. Hyams Beach, Australia

Australia is definitely one of my favorite places for adventure elopements to take place. The country is SO diverse, with crazy cool nature, and insanely exotic wildlife!

Sunrises at the Australian beaches (and there are SO many to choose from!) are absolutely breathtaking - which will give you wedding photos that are scroll-stopping! There are plenty of fun activities in Oz to choose from, whether you’re looking to hike it up or go for a more urban aesthetic for your adventure elopement.

There are so many intimate places for an adventure wedding ceremony in this beautiful continent, and many activities to take part in during honeymoon activities as well.

You can’t go wrong eloping down under!

Hope these Lover Era themed locations have given you some good inspiration for your adventure wedding or elopement!
